Key responsibilities: Assist with the develop our existing software which is written in VB6. Participate in the development and implementation of new applications and web based software. This part of the role will be especially interesting as you will be able to see the development of the software evolve and your input will significantly influence the way in which our software develops in the future. Provide support and documentation for developments that you have involved with. Your background: Fluent in Visual Basic 6 Experience in developing desktop application, web based applications and web services Experience in developing and interfacing to application programming interfaces (APIs) Experience with all Windows based operating Systems Experience with SQL Server 2000 and upwards including writing stored procedures Excellent communication skills with colleagues, end customers and other partner company development teams Excellent documentation skills Have the ability to work on an individual basis and as part of a team To be proactive and driven Be able to work to strict deadlines The ideal candidate would also have experience with MySQL and Oracle Databases and also Linux.
